Here are the Impressive Changes Made to the 2024 Kia Niro

The Kia Niro received a major makeover for the 2024 model year and the new model has a lot to offer to buyers who want a fuel-efficient and practical compact SUV that also has a very distinctive style.

Improved efficiency for all three versions

The 2024 Kia Niro continues to be offered in three distinct versions which use updated versions of the same powertrains that were found in the previous generation. This translates into improved efficiency numbers for the hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric models. Starting with the regular hybrid version, the Niro is powered by a 1.6L engine paired with an electric motor and a six-speed dual-clutch transmission that sends the combined output of 139 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque to the front wheels. This version of the Niro can achieve consumption figures of only 4.4 L/100 km in the city. The plug-in variant uses a larger battery and a more powerful electric motor to deliver 180 horsepower and an electric range of 53 kilometres, which is a 25% improvement over the 2022 model. Finally, the fully electric version uses the same 64.8 kWh battery and 201 horsepower motor as before, but improvements have increased its range from 385 kilometres all the way to 407 kilometres.

Increased practicality

The 2024 Kia Niro is more practical than its predecessor since it is slightly larger in many key dimensions. For example, the new Niro benefits from more headroom front and rear than the previous model, and its rear legroom has improved significantly, which contributes to making passengers more comfortable on long trips. Further improving comfort is the increased shoulder room both front and rear, and the cargo compartment also receives some extra space, with a capacity of 646 litres behind the rear seat in the hybrid model.

An expressive design

The 2024 Kia Niro shows a bold exterior appearance that attracts attention, especially due to the distinctive shape of the daytime running lights in front and the taillamps in the rear. Drivers who want to distinguish their Niro even further can also opt for a contrasting colour on the rear quarter panel. Inside, the dashboard has been entirely revised to more closely resemble that of the very modern EV6 electric car.
