The 2023 Kia Niro enters a completely new generation which brings many improvements to all three of the hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric versions. Here’s what you should know about it.

More interior room

The 2023 Kia Niro benefits from more passenger and cargo space than the previous generation due to its slightly larger exterior dimensions. This contributes to making the new Niro one of the most practical vehicles in its category, especially in terms of cargo capacity. Indeed, the cargo compartment is enlarged up to 646 litres behind the rear seats and 1,805 litres with the 60/40 rear seat folded. In addition, the occupants also benefit from this increased interior space via the improved shoulder room as well as the more generous headroom over the front passengers.

Three efficient drivetrains

Just like the previous model, the 2023 Kia Niro is offered in three versions that are all powered by a different electrified drivetrain. The first version is a standard hybrid vehicle that uses a gasoline engine and an electric motor to deliver 139 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque as well as an impressive level of fuel efficiency, which has been improved over last year’s model.
