The 2023 Kia Sportage Is Winter Ready

Winter is a-comin’ and with it, all the fun that entail: cold morning drives to the hokey rink, snowy commutes home and so forth. It’s in these conditions that your car or crossover can be one of your best allies, as is the case with the Kia Sportage – and here’s why.

Start It From Home

Or the office, the hockey rink, or what have you. It can be done thanks to Kia’s Connect smartphone app. Compatible with all major mobile operating systems, Kia Connect is your one stop shop to a better life on the road in the winter -- or any other time of the year.

It has many features but for winter driving, its ability to not just start your Sportage but start its climate control system as well is probably its most valuable asset. You pre-set the climate control system to what you would prefer and get it all going with the simple press of a button. That way, as you’re getting the family ready for school in the cozy confines of your home, you can make the transition to the cozy confines of your crossover without hardly missing a beat.

Heat your keester

No matter which Sportage you opt for, you will have heated front seats. They come as standard on all Sportage trims, and can be set to three levels for maximum comfort. Upgrading to the EX Premium trim level, meanwhile, provides access to heated rear seats as well. So if you’re transporting kids that are no longer in child’s seats, then this is a great bonus to have.

Heat your mitts

Standard on Sportage X-Line and up, the heated steering wheel is a boon for anyone who’s tired of having to drive with gloves on as they can be bulky and negatively affect your grip on the steering wheel. With a heated steering wheel – that can also be controlled via the Kia Connect app – you can toss those pesky gloves where they belong during a drive – straight into the glovebox.
