2011 Kia Optima SX Review - Toronto Sun I can't find anything I don't like about it unless I trot out a personal observation ? I don't love the wheels. But after spending some time with the car, even they are growing on me. Optima draws a lot of attention, especially in the test car's top-of-the-line SX trim. Long, low and the kind of sensuous shape that makes you want to run your hand over it. The unique 18-inch sport wheels are the only design element that takes away from the overall impression of beauty. Read more ...

2011 Kia Optima SX Review - National Post, Toronto In
a dozen years or so, Kia has transformed itself from a purveyor of
truly horrible cars - the Sephia and original Sportage - to a company
that's on a real tear. While it was product that initially drove the
transformation, the company has transitioned into a design pleaser, with
a spate of cars and SUVs that now have a family resemblance and are as
eye-catching as anything offered. However, good looks count for little
if the vehicle in question lacks substance. The Optima SX has substance
in spades. Read More ...
2011 Kia Optima Hybrid Review - Toronto Star As with any hybrid, things are pretty technical. The greasy bits are composed of a 2.4 litre "Theta II" four cylinder gasoline engine using the Atkinson-cycle ? basically a modification in valve timing strategy that compromises low-rpm power for greater overall efficiency ? teamed with a pair of electric motor/generators that can propel or recharge the vehicle as required. 2011 Kia Optima Test Drive - Toronto Sun The 2011 Optima is Kia's version of the new Hyundai Sonata, which went on sale last year as a 2010 model. They are sisters under their slightly different but equally pretty skins, with similar pricing and the same choice of engines and transmissions. Both are well put together and have excellent five-year bumper-to-bumper warranties. Both give you an awful lot of car for the money. Picking one may depend on which appeals the most to your eye - and that will be a hard choice, because both of them will. Read More ...
2011 Kia Optima Review - Toronto Star Kia held a very exclusive press preview in Melbourne for the new Optima mid-size sedan (I was the only Canadian invited). Not at all coincidentally, the Australian Tennis Open was on at the same time and Kia just happens to be a major sponsor. Funny how these things work out. Read More ...
2011 Kia Optima SX Review - Toronto Sun It's always impressive to sit on a racetrack, with all those empty stands that can accommodate over 65 000 people. You can't do anything but imagine that it's all crowded, and that all the spectators are cheering. What a feeling this must be! Read More ...
2011 Kia Optima EX Review - Autoblog com Nobody remembers the 2010 Kia Optima, but just like that, the 2011 model may be the mainstream sedan to beat. While some consumers - the uninformed and brand-bigoted - might remain skeptical, the 2011 Kia Optima is the new benchmark. How could the Optima go from warmed-over also-ran to the segment's latest front-runner? Read More...
2011 Kia Optima Review - National Post, Toronto In spite of the sluggish economic climate, Kia is on a tear. While it took the company 30 years to ship its five-millionth vehicle after exporting the first South Korean automotive product in 1975, it has taken just six years to double that number - the 10-millionth car was a pearl white edition of the all-new Optima. That only tells part of the story. The other half is found in a product portfolio that has been completely revamped in a little more than five years - the oldest vehicle in Kia's stable is the Rondo. 2011 Kia Optima Test Drive Review - Yahoo Autos At Kia Design Center America, a vehicle design studio on Kia's 21-acre corporate campus in Irvine, Calif., a new generational rendition of Optima, Kia's mid-size four-door sedan, reveals a bold new sheetmetal treatment. It looks aggressive and keenly contemporary in a fluidity of lines drawn in rectangular format, but with a radically raked windshield and arching canopy over the cabin with low-slung windows and side pillars muted to forge the profile of a swift and racy two-door coupe.
